Sea Freight & Container Shipping
Full and shared container shipping through the ports of Dar es Salaam and Mombasa — with the inland leg to Rwanda run by Megira's own trucks.
Ocean Freight That Doesn't Stop at the Port
Rwanda is landlocked, so every sea shipment is really two journeys: the ocean leg to an East African port, and the road leg inland. Megira manages both. We coordinate ocean bookings with shipping lines and forwarding partners, organise port clearance, and deliver the container to your door.
Whether you're importing a full 40ft container or a few pallets on a shared LCL service, you get one quotation and one point of contact.

How we deliver sea freight: Megira plans, coordinates and manages the shipment for you. Steps that legally require a licence — such as customs declarations, airline or ocean bookings — are carried out through appropriately licensed clearing agents, carriers and authorised partners we work with, and road legs are run on Megira's own fleet wherever possible.
FCL or LCL — in plain words
FCL (Full Container Load): you book a whole 20ft or 40ft container for your goods — usually best for larger shipments. LCL (Less than Container Load): your goods share a container with other shippers and you pay for the space used — usually best for smaller shipments.
What we need for a sea freight quote
- Origin (city or port)
- Destination in Rwanda or the region
- Cargo type and packaging
- Container size, or volume for LCL
- Weight
- Delivery location (site, warehouse, depot)
Then request a sea freight quote. Clearing handled too — see customs clearing in Rwanda.
